Jurij Pitrenkow was born in Sochi, Russia in 1962. The true subject in any of his paintings is his use of light and how he sees the endlessly changing world around us. The light is more than a visual tool, it is an emotional subject. It is through the manipulation of light in color that Pitrenkow communicates and translates how it falls, changes, sculpts, colors and creates various moves on a subject that intrigues and inspires his viewers. Pitrenkow is one of Russia’s most popular contemporary painters who is best known for painting light in his striking use of color. He has won a number of awards, including first place in the Art Vanguard show located in Kiev, Ukraine. His work is represented in prestigious galleries across Europe and his paintings are in many private collections around the world.
