The celebrated artist Jean-Luc Messin was born September 24, 1938 in Versailles, France. The naturalist painter began his career drawing and working in the theatre. At the same time he completed his studies at the Lycee.
In 1984 Messin had his first one-man exhibition in the United States at the Hahn Gallery in Philadelphia, Pa. Since then his paintings have been exhibited in Galleries both here and abroad.
Messin recently took a year to travel and paint throughout the U.S. and Mexico; reminiscent of his early years spent traveling through France and Europe.
Now a resident of Arizona, Jean-Luc summers in Burgundy, France, where he paints the vibrant landscapes and still life’s his clients continue to collect. Bridgette Bardot, David Niven and Orson Wells are but a few names of his past collectors. His work is in many prestigious collections here in the US and is included in several museums in France.
